Licensed Veterinary Technician, full-time

We are a newer urban-centered, community-minded small animal veterinary hospital in Downtown Tacoma.  Our team works together to provide superior care for our patients and clients.

We are seeking mature, motivated people with good communication skills and an interest in contributing to the community.  Creativity and a positive outlook are valued. Only Licensed Veterinary Technicians with work experience will be considered.

Your strengths include:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and quickly and a willingness to help out wherever needed
  • Ability to follow instructions and tasks to completion with accuracy and promptness and minimal supervision

Job Requirements/Skills/Physical Demands:

  • Client education, history taking
  • Patient care and treatment
  • Basic lab work, radiography, dental prophies
  • Assisting with general hospital maintenance and cleaning
  • Help maintain inventories of medical supplies and pet foods
  • Ability to work on feet all day
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Hours include some evenings and weekend shifts

Veterinary Receptionist, part-time

Our ideal candidate is poised, gracious, compassionate and maintains a sense of humor and a zen-like sense of calm during occasional moments of frenzy. Ability to handle a variety of personalities is paramount, as daily scenarios range from silly to sad. Love of animals is a given. Ability to communicate that same devotion and respect to our clients is your gift. Your creativity and commitment to community will be used in spearheading marketing ideas, and you will actively participate in promotional events both on and off site. This creativity will also be evident in your ability to maintain interest in our website.

  • Strong, detail-oriented clerical and recordkeeping skills

  • Previous veterinary experience is absolutely required

Responsibilities include:

  • Prompt, professional multi-line phone answering
  • Scheduling appointments to maximize patient flow
  • Checking patients in & out for appointments, surgeries & boarding
  • Daily and monthly bookkeeping
  • Maintaining client correspondence
  • Organizing and maintaining the hospital work flow
  • Light animal restraint, some lab sample preparation
  • Client education
  • Business promotional activities
  • Hours include some evenings and occasional weekend shifts
