We recommend annual Senior Wellness Profiles for all pets over the age of 7 and often for younger adult animals as well. We believe preventative care is the most important component in your pets’ health care, and early-detection lab work such as this is a vital part of good medicine.

Lab tests can identify early changes in internal organ function long before outward symptoms appear. The tests are non-invasive, can identify possible health concerns before they become life threatening and help us manage low-grade disease processes to maintain longer, healthier lives for the dogs and cats we love.  A few of the many medical conditions that a Senior Wellness Profile can detect: diabetes, hyper/hypothyroid, kidney or liver disease, or an infection.

It's also important to have lab tests performed when a pet is healthy, so the veterinarian has a baseline to compare results when/if your pet does become ill.  For our doctors to interpret the results appropriately, they must have examined your pet within 3 months prior or 1 week after the sample collection.
